NORWALK — After more than a dozen cars were broken into and two were stolen in Rowayton over the weekend, police are reminding residents not to make it easy for thieves.
During the early morning hours on March 25, police say that individuals entered unlocked vehicles in Rowayton.
Thirteen residents of Bryan, Crest, Craw, and Juniper Roads, among others, contacted police on Saturday to report that their cars had been burglarized.
Two vehicles that had been left unlocked with the keys in them were also reported stolen.
One of the stolen vehicles was recovered in Waterbury. Norwalk officers also located a vehicle that had been stolen in Torrington and abandoned in Rowayton.
Police are reminding people to lock their vehicles and remove the keys and any other valuables.
People are also reminded to report suspicious people or vehicles to the Norwalk Police Department immediately at 203-854-3000.
Additional patrols have been added to area, police said.
